I lived in Ipoh for more than 2 decades. Whilst my friends were moving to Klang Valley I was attracted to Ipoh. I had wonderful time in Ipoh. Thanks for this quiz. I got 8/10 correct. Looks like I still don’t know Ipoh very well. Good job guys! Thanks.
I got 7 out of 10. Was born in Ipoh. but travelled around with family throughout perak. Recently popped in Ipoh. Dont remember much but just tried it out. Am happy got 7 out of 10.
I was born n bred in Ipoh.An ideal city for retirees n a haven for food lovers. The only drawback is the attitude of some Ipohites not keeping the city clean.Hope to see changes post covid-19.
Visited Ipoh many time while i was younger. Took me over 30yrs before finding that Ipoh is the place I may want to retire too. Discovering wonderful food places and recreation. Still lots to discover. 1thing for sure, I love the quieter life and easy excess within Ipoh as much as the food.
Got 7pts.
From Pasir Pinji area but have left Ipoh for KL in 1985 to study and later works in KL until now.
Will come back to Ipoh during festive season to visit relatives in Chemor, Tanah Hitam, Sg Siput, & Gopeng.
I will take this opportunity to visit all the old places that i have fond memories during my childhood like the Ipoh oldtown area famous for the foods, padang Ipoh, Dr Park, Sunday pasar karat, pasar besar area (now turned into UTC), the Kinta riverside, ACS, St Michael, Ipoh Parade, Turf Club and surrounding green park, the old airport, Sam Po Tong, Ipoh cave, the site of few old cinema, Lou Wong tauge chicken, Jubilee Park, Pasir Pinji wet mkt, Pasir Puteh wet mkt, my primary school sk Raja DiHilir, Kek Lok Seah, Menglembu food lanes, Kledang hill, and a lots more to mention.
My hometown Ipoh has it unique form of attraction especially the beautiful girl it produced throughout this many year and some became workclass actors and actress.
Ipoh does produces lots of business tycoons throughout this 100 yrs history.
Alot of them choose to migrate elsewhere to better take positions but they will always never forget they are from Ipoh.
Now we witness the reductions of Ipoh after year 2000. There is not much of new developments. Ipoh has became a town for retirees aka the Oldfolks Town.
Ipoh is still one of the better town to retire as the surrounding landscapes are superb eco friendly and the cost of living is cheaper compared to big city.
Everything that you want is available here. The people living in Ipoh is extremely friendly and helpful.
Born , bred educated in Ipoh n worked in Ipoh n retired there for 69yrs. There cannot be a city like Ipoh in Pennisula Malaysia for the proximity to the city from all the housing estates, good n cheap food , friendly city folks n clean air, no pollution, n lots more, except cleanliness . Ipoh was known as the cleanest city in the country during the administration of the SEENIVASAGAM brothers in the 50’s n 60’s , two brilliant criminal lawyers n politicians during that era. Everybody feared them when Paiament was in session, fearless politicians who were well respected for their fight against corruption. Wish all towns n cities in the country were like Ipoh of those days. Very proud to have been an Ipohite. Wish Ipoh gains back it”s former glorious days.
Born, bred, educated at St.Michael Institution, works 25 years here but sought greenier pastures in KL till now 2021 but will definitely retire in IPOH for sure in a few years time.
